“Come on, Ludwig! Hurry up.”

You ran out into the open field as cheerful as you could be on such a beautiful day. The sky was filled with plump white clouds, the sun shining brightly in the distance, and the breeze was warm and invigorating. It was a great day to have a picnic with some friends.

However, it was only you and your friend, Ludwig Beilschmidt. You had asked all of your other friends, but they were either too busy with work or had other plans. Ludwig had work as well, but you were tired of being rejected, so you forced him to come with you. This guy seriously needed some fresh air; excluding the training sessions. He needs to relax.

“Over here. This spot is perfect,” you shouted towards Ludwig, who was standing under the shade of a tree not too far away from you.

“Really? I think this vould be a good place to have our picnic. It's under ze shade.”

“Well, what's wrong with being in the sun? Don't tell me you don't like being in the sun?”

“Nein. It's a beautiful sunny day. But I just think ve vould be cooler if ve sat in ze shade.” Since he was carrying everything, Ludwig began to set up the picnic cloth and basket.

“But, but, but.... Fine,” you pouted.

The next day, you decided to visit Ludwig at his house because 1) your picnic could have gone smoother, and 2) he was alone since his brother was out with his mischievous friends, and his bubbly best friend was in Italy for the next month. It was the least you could do to keep him company.

“Hey, Luddy?”

“Please don't call me that, _____.”

“Luddy, could you open the window? It's kinda stuffy in here.” He sighed. Ludwig walked over to the window and opened it. Then he closed it.

“Hey! You only opened it for like 2 seconds,” you complained.

“It's too windy outside. There might be a storm coming this vay.”

“But, but, but.... You're not afraid of a little wind and rain, are you?”

“Vell, no. I think that ze rain is refreshing.”

“Then why?” You raised my arms for emphasis.

“I don't like getting wet.”

“....” Your arms dropped.

You were peeved. If Ludwig said that he liked the rain, then why stay dry? If he liked the sun, why sit in the shade? It made no sense to you. If you say you like/love something, then you shouldn't turn away from it. Right?

You abruptly stood up from your seat and walked to the window. You pushed up the glass screen, letting the wind blow in as it pleased. Then you turned to Ludwig. He was staring at you, and you stared back.

“I love the wind,” you said. It might have seemed weird for you to say that, but you were trying to make a point. Ludwig opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by a sudden down pour of rain. It poured so much that you weren't able to make out what was in the distance.

“I love the rain, too!” you exclaimed. You then ran to the front door and ran outside into the rain. Ludwig tried to stop you, but you were too quick.

The large droplets collide into you. Your (s/c) skin, your (h/c) hair, your clothes, they were all soaked in the matter of seconds. You screamed with joy as you felt the rush of cold moving through your body. Your feet splashed into puddles, kicking the rain back into the air. Your arms were out stretched and your head was thrown back, laughing at the clouded sky. You were having fun. Your spirit felt light and excited. Or at least until Ludwig decided to say something about it.

“_____! You're going to catch a cold if you stay out there.” He had to raise his voice in order for you to hear him because of the rain.

“Aw, come on, Luddy! Lighten up and join me!” You ran towards him with a big smile on your face. You grabbed his arm and pulled him further outside. It was difficult when Ludwig was putting up some resistance, but eventually he gave in. “Isn't this nice?!” You started jumping up and down.

He looked down at you. Your (e/c) shined with happiness. It would be a shame to spoil them. So he decided to follow along. Ludwig stretched his arms out, letting the rain drops find them. For a moment, he looked like he was at peace. Then he started to laugh. It was the most joyous laugh you've heard from him yet. You were thrilled.

An hour later, you and Ludwig went back inside the house because you started sneezing. You both changed into Ludwig's dry clothes, even though they were baggy on you.

“T-thanks for t-the c-clothes,” you stuttered. Ludwig came in with a blanket in his hands and wrapped you in it.

“You're velcome, _____.”

“I'm s-s-sorry about s-suddenly pulling you o-out into t-the rain. I kinda got c-carried away.”

“It's alright. I understand vhat you vere trying to do.” Ludwig smiled at you and kissed you on the cheek. Your pale face (from being out in the rain) was glowing bright red. “I had a good time.”

“I-I'm glad.” You smiled back through your blush.

~:~:~Extended Ending~:~:~

The door busted open and three soaked men ran into the dry house.

“Dios mio! It's raining tomates out there,” commented Antonio.

“HEY, LUDDY!!! VHERE ARE YOU?! I NEED A TOWEL,” Gilbert cried.

“Ohonhon~ What do we have here?” cooed Francis as he took in the sight of you and Ludwig sitting on the couch together, sleeping. “They look so cute together. I just want to-” The Frenchman crept up to your unconscious form until Gilbert stopped him.

“Vait!” he said in a shouted whisper. “I've got a better idea.”

~:~:~

And so, when you woke from your slumber, you realized a terrible trick was played on you and your German friend.

“WHAT THE HELL...?!” Your outburst woke Ludwig up.

“Vhat happened-?”

It didn't take him long to realize that the two of you were partially naked and covered in whipped cream. Your entire face was suddenly red, and so was Ludwig's. Then, in your confused state, a flash went off.

“Fusososo~ This will make a nice Christmas card.”

“Send the awesome me a copy, vill ya?”

“Don't forget moi~”

-THE END-

Let's just say that Luddy wasn't too happy in the end.
I feel like this is what you would call drabble. Vhatever.

This is just a little idea I wanted to express. If you say you love something, don't hide away from it. LIVE IN IT! I mean, if someone said they love you, wouldn't you want those words to be true? Like, some people say that they love the rain, but they hide inside a building or under an umbrella. DUDES I LOVE THE RAIN! You should see me laughing and giggling when it's pouring. I look crazy, but at least I'm happy :dummy:
